Chris Scarborough Illustrations

I've had these amazing pencil illustrations saved on my desktop for ages and have lost the link to the artist who did them. Can any of you shed some light as to who did these drawings? Thanks!!
UPDATE- the artist is called Chris Scarborough and his statement reads: "Recent work that explores the idea of an existence after an ambiguous cataclysm like a new Big Bang. Ideas and elements from our collective cultures have now become like literal agents of evolution."

Jason Yarmosky

Jason Bard Yarmosky explores the relationship between the limitations of social norms and freedom of expression, particularly the juxtaposition between the young and old. The raw freedom that is so much a part of youth often gives way to borders and boundaries placed on adult behavior. As we transition from adult to elderly, these raw freedoms often reemerge. As a child you learn to walk; later in life we learn to unwalk, literally and metaphorically. The dreams of the young, often sublimated by the years, never really disappear..."

Sixe Art Cosmovision Show

Sixe has just finished his latest show, entitled 'Cosmovision' in Madrid and it looked pretty good! Lots of nods to Meso-American art...

Christopher Conn Askew

Christopher Conn Askew's work is a joy to behold. His colour pallette of red, black, greys and blues works so well with his theatrical illustrations and paintings. There is a definite influence from his early days of tattooing and I think he has nailed the 'other-world' genre on the head...

DJ Krush Gig Competition

ESPVisuals have teamed up with Soundcrash once again, for a competition to give away 2 FREE TICKETS to go see DJ KRUSH & Many More Artists on the 28th January @ HMV Forum.

All you have to do is email us with an answer to the simple question;

"How long will DJ Krush's set be?"

Please mail your answer to selphespcrew [at] g mail . com The deadline is January 25th so have a long hard think about the achingly obvious answer!....

The undisputed Godfather of the electronic beats scene, DJ Krush, celebrates 20 years since his first ever live gig with a very special 3 hour set sure to delight his legion of fans!

DJ Krush’s importance as a music producer cannot be underestimated and without him some of the biggest artists Soundcrash puts on would simply not exist, at least in their present form. But despite his enormous influence, DJ Krush has always been a live performer at heart, honing his skills to perfection throughout the years and now capable of building layer after layer after layer of drum samples to the point where his audience have no choice but to completely lose it and immerse themselves fully in the wonderful, dark, and downright genius world of DJ Krush.

Main support on the night comes from a legend in his own right making a very rare appearance to pay respect to the sensei. Pioneers in the art of remixing, founding fathers of Ninja Tune Records, as well as the creative force behind what is regarded by many as the best mix ever recorded in “Journeys By DJ”, Coldcut’s list of accolades goes well beyond what most artists in the filed today can only dream of. Now dj’ing only when the occasion merits it (Jon More’s last London appearance was at the Ninja XX bash at Ewer Street Car Park) tonight he will play a very special set commemorating 20 years of Dj Krush.

Line-up: DJ Krush (3 hour 20th anniversary set – live)
Coldcut’s Jon More (dj set)
Anchorsong (live)
Kidkanevil (live)
plus more tbc

Looking forward to receiving this in the post this week Mr RPM!

Bio Light Concept by Philips

"The new “bio-light” concept by Dutch electronics company Philips , designed as part of their Microbial Home (MH) system, creates light in the same way that bioluminescent living organisms like fireflies and glow worms do. In the bio-light a collection of hand-blown jars — held in place by a steel frame — contain a measure of bioluminescent bacteria which glow green when fed methane gas — in this case through individual silicon tubes routed through a household waste digester. Although the light isn’t bright enough to fully replace conventional lighting, harnessing these biological techniques could help redefine how we consume energy in the home, says Philips."
